Matt Cole was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1967. He earned an undergraduate degree in kinesiology at the University of British Columbia and a graduate degree in exercise physiology at the University of Victoria. He has worked as a kinesiologist since 2000.

During his college and university years, Matt scratched his creative itch in screenplay writing and short fiction courses and workshops along with speculative fiction studies.  In his free time, he enjoys red wine (or the nectar of the Gods as he believes it to be), reading fantasy fiction and graphic novels, and devouring dark chocolate. He can be found wandering bookstores and comic book shops, attending film festivals, drinking craft beer at the local pub, as well as competing in local IPSC competitions. You may also find him at the gym if he ever gets his ass in gear and gets back at it.

Matt currently lives in Coquitlam, British Columbia. He was married in 2002 and divorced in 2009 and was in a relationship with another crazy woman between 2016 to 2017.  He survived them both these ordeals, albeit not entirely unscathed.  He currently has neither a partner nor a pet but is on the lookout for a captivating individual and worthy creature to fill these roles.

Favorite Movie: Goodfellas. Braveheart and Tombstone are close runner-ups. Is there anything cooler than Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday? Recent favorites include John Wick Chapter 3, Joker, and Brightburn.

Favorite Music: Classic rock, blues, Seattle grunge era rock. I greatly miss Chris Cornell but was lucky enough to see him live several times. I hope to catch Jack White and Tool live some time.

Favorite Books:  I am very fond of The Prince of Nothing Trilogy by R Scott Bakker and will get to the follow-up quartet, The Aspect-Emperor, now that it is complete. I am also a big fan of the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin and The Malazan Book of The Fallen series by Steven Erikson. I should also give shout-outs to the first three Dune novels by Frank Herbert and the first three novels of the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.

Favorite TV Shows: Currently Vikings, The Last Kingdom,  Ancient Aliens,  Shameless, Peaky Blinders, The Boys, and South Park. Past favorites include Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad, Sarah Connor Chronicles, and The Walking Dead. I am looking forward to the Wheel of Time, Witcher, and House of Dragon series.
